Background

Being driven by technology and AI

With a passion for solving problems and creating positive change, Alerte was formed to address rising healthcare costs and find a way to better utilize the overwhelming amounts of medical data doctors received. In 2016, Co-founder Razali Mohamad saw an opportunity to contribute to the healthcare industry by applying his knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI). It has always been Alerte’s aim to create intelligent systems that assist doctors to help patients in a more efficient, affordable, and consistent way.

The then small Alerte team were quick to gain support from the medical community and set to work consulting with the medical field to assess the needs. Alerte developed three main tools spanning across ECG, Echocardiographs and Sleep. Alerte obtained some of the world’s largest ECG and Sleep data sets which would further contribute to the robust AI learning within the Alerte product range. As the work load increased, so did the engineering team. Now too large for their initial setup in the outer suburbs of Perth, part of the team relocated to Melbourne.

As the team became closer to product development, focus was attuned to creating the first AI Holter Cardiac Monitoring System prototype which is now known as Atrio. Through the development stages Alerte had become well known within both the medical and innovation communities, winning innovation awards across the country for their technology advancements. Alerte was also starting to be recognised in the academic community having serval papers and posters published.

Today Alerte works closely with world leading cardiologists, in conversations with leading healthcare providers and continues to grow as a company in order to create positive change in healthcare through AI for people everywhere.
